Studio SouthPAW Games, based in South Korea, released their skeleton title in Early Access during February of 2020–and the community has spoken. The community hath said, “Lo, we see that this is good.” And for those who haven’t yet enjoyed the particular pleasure of wreaking havoc on humans as a demon, Skul: The Hero Slayer is launching in full in just a few short weeks. SouthPAW Games describes their project thus:
“Guide ‘Skul’ on his quest to single-handedly take on the Imperial Army and rescue his King from captivity, in an action-packed rogue-lite 2D platformer for the ages.”
Skul’s unique ability has to do with his, well…skull. He can trade his head for other toppings and gain new skills by doing so. In fact, he can wield up to two skulls, should he so choose. That seems like too much internal dialogue for one person to me, but what do I know? I’m just a human. Deliver combos, smash bosses, and teach those pesky monkeys one heck of a lesson. Skul: The Hero Slayer launches in 1.0 for PC only on January 21.
