On July 1, Glumberland studio treated the gaming community to a much-needed gift: the release-date announcement for Ooblets. It’s been a long journey for the long-suffering duo behind the scenes, and it’s a pleasure to see how far they’ve come and what Ooblets has grown into since our interview with them in 2018. Ooblets is summarized succinctly with the following:
“Ooblets is a farming, creature collection, and town life game where you build up your farm, befriend townsfolk, grow ooblets, and have dance-offs.”
Ooblets stitches life-sim mechanics and winsome aesthetics into a warm hug of a sweater we’re just not going to take off. From the beginning, Ooblets has been a labor of love “built around the fan community,” and that community, in just a couple of weeks, is going to have their socks knocked off. Or put carefully and tenderly on, shortly before engaging in a sprightly dance battle. Naturally. Ooblets releases in Early Access for Xbox One and PC on July 15.
