Studio Behind The Messenger Announces Prequel Called Sea of Stars

On March 19, Sabotage Studio blessed fans of The Messenger with the best news they could’ve delivered: A prequel is coming. Sea of Stars was announced March 19 by the Canada-based studio, and within six and a half hours their Kickstarter goal was reached. Since then, they’ve more than doubled their goal, and it’s safe to say Sea of Stars has been deemed a shining treat in these rather grim and murky times. Sea of Stars is described with the following:

“Sea of Stars is a turn-based RPG inspired by the 90’s classics. A prequel story set in The Messenger’s universe, it tells the story of two Children of the Solstice who will combine the powers of the sun and moon to perform Eclipse Magic, the only force capable of fighting off the monstrous creations of the evil alchemist known as The Fleshmancer. Promising the Sabotage touch in every system, Sea of Stars aims to modernize the classic RPG in turn-based combat, storytelling, exploration and interactions with the environment, while still offering a hearty slice of nostalgia and good old, simple fun.”

We might still be in a galaxy far, far away from the launch of Sea of Stars (estimated for 2022), but that hasn’t stopped enthusiasts from lapping up all the early details and preparing to mark the innumerable days off their calendars. Sea of Stars is currently planned for both PC and console releases.
