Definitive Edition of Tranquil The First Tree Now Available

Released originally in September 2017, The First Tree is David Wehle‘s quiet, meditative narrative spun with the threads of life, death, and the journey towards both. Now, little more than a year later, The First Tree is enjoying a console release, as well as a multitude of updates for those who had already embraced its magic on Steam. On November 30, the following news was released on The First Tree‘s Steam page:

“Today is the day! The update I’ve been working on for almost a year is done, and along with it comes the definitive release of The First Tree on Steam, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PS4! All versions of the game are the same, which means Steam users get a long list of updates.”

The First Tree is a third-person exploration indie revolving around parallel stories. In one, a fox searches for her family, and in another, one man’s forgotten son seeks a reconnection. The two interwoven tales are complemented by light platforming and puzzling, all wrapped neatly up in a gameplay package that spans less than two hours. Reflect on life’s greatest ally, and greatest enemy — death — on PC, Xbox One, Switch, and PS4 this bitter winter.
