Puzzler The Unlikely Legend of Rusty Pup Boasts the Creator of Conker’s Bad Fur Day

The fact that the mind behind Conker’s Bad Fur Day is the same mind powering this new, bizarrely fascinating indie speaks volumes. Conker’s Bad Fur Day was a deliciously divisive title that launched on the Nintendo 64 in 2001, ultimately to critical acclaim. Its main character, Conker, was a squirrel with a drinking habit and less-than-admirable morals, and the title as a whole was a shock, a success, and a starting point for many more entries looking to follow suit. The Unlikely Legend of Rusty Pup, released October 19 on Steam, is Chris Seavor’s latest creation as studio Gory Detail, a two-man indie operation. Says the Steam page about this title:

“From the original creators of Conker’s Bad Fur Day, comes a delicately told tale of a dog which thinks it’s a toy, or is it a toy that thinks it’s a dog? Lost and alone in a richly detailed 2D world, you must help lead our sad pooch back home again……Just in time for tea.”

All details for The Unlikely Legend of Rusty Pup read uniquely ambiguous — just ambiguous enough to get our imaginations churning and the suspense burning. It’s a puzzler, to be sure, and evidently one in which you guide Rusty through a dark and dangerous labyrinth. For the stunning visuals alone, this title is worth a good long look, and its gameplay is sure to be worthy of the heritage it proudly carries with it. The Unlikely Legend of Rusty Pup is now available on Steam, and has already enjoyed several updates to streamline the already exceptional experience.
