Charming indie releases abound for 2019, a year we’re slowly dying in anticipation for. Clawing its way to the peak of our must-play list is Mineko’s Night Market, a feline-filled adventure currently in development by studio Meowza Games. Mineko’s Night Market is a crafting escapade that takes place on a Japanese-inspired island. Mineko’s Night Market describes itself as thus:
“A whimsical adventure/simulation game where you play as Mineko, a curious girl who has just arrived at her new home on a peculiar Japanese-inspired island overrun by cats. Discover the mysteries of the island while crafting crafts, friending friends, eating eats, and… catting cats.”
Meowza Games calls Mineko’s Night Market a title that celebrates Japanese culture, and furthermore proffers a heartwarming story about friendship and tradition. For those traits alone we love it already, but the artwork utilized in giving life to this indie is jaw-droppingly delightful. Quirky and clever, Mineko’s Night Market is a hotly anticipated game, and for an abundance of good reasons. It’s slated for release sometime in 2019 on Steam and Switch, and the official announcement for the launch date can’t come soon enough.
