In 2018, Greg Lobanov won over ears and hearts with Wandersong, the winsome musical adventure. A collective breath was held while Lobanov went quiet for a time–then Drawdog was announced, and it became clear another whimsical and touching experience was in store. Now titled Chicory: A Colorful Tale, the project exchanges music for paint, allowing players to interact with the game’s experience by participating in its very design. Chicory: A Colorful Tale is summarized with the following:
“You’re a dog wielding a magic brush! Use painting powers to explore, solve puzzles and make friends in this top-down adventure game. From creators on Wandersong + Celeste.”
On March 17, the Twitter account for Chicory: A Colorful Tale announced the final official trailer, promising a spring release that’s coming soon. The completed product is a collaboration between Greg Lobanov, Lena Raine, Em Halberstadt, Alexis Dean-Jones, and Madeline Berger. Local co-op is a planned feature–a thoughtful touch for players who also create best when together. Chicory: A Colorful Tale is slated for launch on PC and PS consoles this spring.
