For those of you still reeling from the pint-sized delight that was 2019’s Baba Is You, developer Hempuli Oy has a holiday treat in store. On December 12, Hempuli Oy announced that a publicly available beta for the new Baba Is You level editor will be open soon. The news broke on Twitter in the shape of the following:
“Alright, here we are! The public beta of the level editor (complete with online level-sharing) will go alive on Sunday the 13th or Monday the 14th!”
The level editor’s online-sharing feature is the focus of this beta. Players will be given nine-digit codes to share their levels with, and a new “featured” list in the menu will be the place everyone wants to be. A reporting mechanic will also be introduced, presumably in order to curb the insatiable trolls. Baba Is You was a terrific achievement by itself, and the continued work of Hempuli Oy to make it all the more alluring for its base is admirable to say the least. Baba Is You‘s public beta will be available for PC only at the start.
