France-based Lozange Lab gets right to the point with the title of their newly released puzzler, Rip Them Off. The masses are easily fooled, aren’t we? Easy to sway into shopping for things that have no greater purpose in our lives than to lighten our wallets. Rise above the foolish many and become one of the enlightened few in Rip Them Off, a satirical spin on tower defense and management sims. Lozange Lab describes their tongue-in-cheek project thus:
“Rip Them Off is a new puzzle game of economic management and tower defense. The Board needs profit, and it’s up to you to line the streets with shops the masses can’t resist. Choose your locations, pick your stores and earn your way up the corporate ladder and its increasingly difficult challenges!”
Each city provides a fresh challenge and a fresh community of NPCs to bluster into obedience. You have to spend money to convince them to walk through your doors, but play your (credit) cards right, and you’ll quickly see your profits rising. In addition to the main game, a leaderboard feature makes it possible to compete against your so-called “friends” for the title of ultimate profiteer. Rip Them Off launched on September 24 for PC and mobile.
