Swirling, dark, and deep, upcoming Necrobarista intends to be everything a potent cup of black coffee promises and more. Developed by Australia-based Route 59 Games and releasing August 8, Necrobarista is a visual novel set in an alternative Melbourne. Enter the supernatural café where the dead spend their final evening and be swept away by Necrobarista‘s cinematic vignettes and 3D anime aesthetic. Necrobarista describes itself with the following:
“Inspired equally by film and anime, Necrobarista is a unique take on the visual novel medium. Follow a dynamic and diverse cast of characters as they navigate Melbourne’s hipstery coffee culture, the questionable ethics of necromancy, and the process of letting go.”
Necrobarista is currently planned for a PC release on Steam come August 8. Ports to Switch and PS4 are slated for sometime this year, but a specific date has yet to be announced. Necrobarista arrives just in time to quell the oppression of the summer sun, offering a refreshing glassful of coolly stylish anime fun.
