Proudly flaunting its Pokémon heritage and determined to provide the MMO experience enthusiasts have been begging for for years, Temtem is a creature-collection adventure looking to launch sometime in 2019. The first wave of alpha testing rolled out in November 2018, and over the months Temtem alpha players have enjoyed a multitude of patches seeking to improve and expand the initial experience. Most recently, Madrid-based developer Crema launched Alpha 0.2 in February, which included the addition of a minimap. Temtem describes itself with the following:
“Temtem is a massively multiplayer creature-collection adventure inspired by Pokémon. Seek adventure in the lovely Airborne Archipelago alongside your Temtem squad. Catch every Temtem, battle other tamers, customize your house, join a friend’s adventure or explore the dynamic online world.”
Initially funded through a Kickstarter campaign last May, Temtem knocked more than one pair of socks off when it blew past the $70,000 goal and earned itself well over $550,000 of support. Featuring softly textured graphics, a plethora of beaming creatures, and a slew of systems that we all secretly hoped Game Freak would one day implement, it’s no surprise Temtem has gained the following it has. Keep up with their patches and progress by checking in on their Twitter account.
