With the news still so hot off the presses it’ll scorch the skin, the March 28 release date for The World Next Door has been announced by studio Rose City Games. Come the final gasps of March, enjoy The World Next Door on either Switch or PC. The World Next Door is a hand-illustrated narrative centered around Jun, a human ensnared in a parallel world teeming with magic, friends, and foes. The World Next Door describes itself with the following:
“The World Next Door is a narrative-driven, action-adventure game that follows Jun, a rebellious teen girl trapped in a parallel world inhabited by magical beings. Inspired by the emotional storytelling and thrilling action of both anime and indie games, players can expect to meet and develop friendships with an eclectic cast of characters while uncovering the mysteries hidden within this world.”
Gameplay fuses puzzle combos with action and branching narration with systems of reputation. Post-launch, multiplayer in the form of two-person puzzle-offs will be available, as well. Come March, scratch that incessant anime-gaming itch that’s often so difficult to fully reach with The World Next Door.
