Spill Blood Like It’s the 1990s in FPS DUSK

There’s nothing like settling down with a good retro splatterfest to appropriately ring in the new year. To that end, scramble your way over to Steam and pick up the phenomenal DUSK, currently rocking an “overwhelmingly positive” score from thousands of equally bloodthirsty players. Developed by David Szymanski and released on December 10, DUSK smashed into our lives with its unstoppable nostalgic charisma and its face-punching good time. DUSK describes itself with the following:

“Battle through an onslaught of mystical backwater cultists, possessed militants & even darker forces as you attempt to discover just what lurks beneath the Earth in this retro FPS inspired by the ’90s legends.”

It’s difficult to follow legends like Doom and Quake, and even more difficult to recreate their industry-changing phenomenon with much of the same in 2018. Nonetheless, DUSK survives the shadows of giants and casts one of its own, ensnaring players with its enthusiastic and hellish romp. Done with the three campaigns proffered? Destroy some friends in the DUSKworld arena multiplayer. Available on Switch and PC, DUSK is the wild flight back to the 90s that we didn’t know we needed, and now can’t do without. The new year can only be truly enjoyed with a little death, doom, and destruction in our lives.
