Play Your Cards Right in Deck-Building Hybrid Book of Demons

Freshly freed from the manacles of Early Access on December 13, Book of Demons is now spreading its hellish wings as a full title and taking flight. Developed and published by studio Thing TrunkBook of Demons worships the PC glory days of yore in the best possible way. While it doesn’t technically claim to be a “card” game, all items and spells function and perform like cards, with upgrades and legendaries available. Says Book of Demons about itself:

“Book of Demons is a Hack & Slash Deck-building hybrid in which YOU decide the length of quests. Wield magic cards instead of weapons and slay the armies of darkness in the dungeons below the Old Cathedral. Save the terror-stricken Paperverse from the clutches of the Archdemon himself!”

Book of Demons is available through Steam, and is furthermore the first in what appears to be an extensive series of much of the same, currently going all the way up to Book VII. For deck-building enthusiasts, there could be no better news for rolling into the new year, full of new opportunities for gaming consumption.
