2016’s supernatural Oxenfree took the gaming community by storm. Its original, relatable characters supported a fantastical backdrop of thrills, adventure, and emotion, and its absorbing visual style made everything richly atmospheric. Developer Night School Studio had a strong winner on their hands, and ever since players have continually come to discover and love what it is that makes Oxenfree so spectacular. Fast-forward to now, and Night School Studio is knee-deep in what appears to be another absorbing classic. Planned for 2019, Afterparty is the developer’s new project in which:
“…you play Milo and Lola, recently deceased best buds who suddenly find themselves staring down an eternity in Hell. But there’s a loophole: outdrink Satan and he’ll grant you re-entry to Earth.”
Visually, Afterparty is already equal to its phenomenal predecessor. While also fueled by a supernatural plotline, Afterparty‘s satirical flavor leans it away from its sibling and in a new and interesting direction. It’s unclear when Afterparty will release and what it will release on, however. The title has, at the very least, a Steam page, so PC players can rejoice in knowing that they will certainly get to enjoy this new adventure by the talented and renowned Night School Studio.
