Doodles have never been so terrifying. Escape Doodland, two-person studio flukyMachine‘s arcade platformer, releases at long last on November 30. Rife with chaos, humor, and surprisingly demanding gameplay, Escape Doodland is just the brightly grotesque adventure we needed to rip us out of our wintertime funk. According to Escape Doodland‘s Steam page,
“Death and destruction came into Doodland. This happy and joyful land is going to change. You play as one of Doodlers, a peaceful inhabitant of happy doodle world, attacked by a merciless monster. There are only two options: run as fast as you can or die.”
Run, jump, swim, and fly–faster than you think you need to, or prepare to meet a violent end. Escape Doodland may speak to casual gamers with its unusual and absurdist doodle art, but it’s certainly not for the faint of heart. If you can master your anxiety and conquer Escape Doodland‘s array of quirky obstacle courses, always staying ahead of its savagely hungry monster, you might just stand a chance.
