Not much can beat the overwhelming flood of nostalgia that results from discovering delightful new launch titles like CHUMBOSOFT‘s HEARTBEAT. Heartwarming sprite artwork, complemented by bright, catchy electronica, takes us back to a day and an age where gaming was something different altogether. If for nothing else, we’re grateful to the HEARTBEAT trailer for reviving some of those long-dead feelings of pure, and simple, gaming joy. Says HEARTBEAT of itself:
“You are Eve Staccato, a simple Conjurer from a small mountain town. What starts out as a simple errand from your grandfather ends up becoming an adventure full of both wonder and peril. You will meet new friends and foes as you take on this strange and transcendent journey.”
HEARTBEAT assures players of at least 20-hours of gameplay with multiple ending options, a vast world with an equally vast cast, side quests for days, and magical, customizable baby moths. Discover, battle, and conquer a multitude of unique enemies, and indulge in mini-games as much or as little as your little heart desires. HEARTBEAT is currently available only through a website, but a later Steam launch has been promised.
