Studio 1P2P‘s Young Souls might be coming in 2019, but it’s never too early to start feeding the hype monster for a worthy indie. After receiving the all-important nod of approval from Game Informer post-demonstration of gameplay at PAX West 2018, Young Souls impressed the best and the rest of us alike. Developer 1P2P is a team of two located in France, and The Arcade Crew is serving as publisher.
Young Souls‘ has this to say about itself:
The Arcade Crew is thrilled to announce a touching and exciting new tale about life, family, adventure, and saving the world: Young Souls. Created by 1P2P, Young Souls draws you in with its distinct art direction but keeps you playing via a deeply narrative-driven RPG beat-em-up that features clever crossover mechanics. Young Souls features precise gameplay mechanics wrapped inside a profound story with unforgettable characters and intense combat.
The trailer shows off a two-player combat system where co-op is possible, but not required. The story looks to be a serious focal point, supported by a unique swathe of artistic visuals and some witty, humorous writing. We can expect to see Young Souls drop for the PC and the Nintendo Switch sometime in early 2019 — for now, we’ll have to keep our eyes peeled for more teases of gameplay and lore.
