Careening across the screen in the classic perilous platforming style is old news says Semblance, the platformer launching today by studio Nyamakop. Rather than be limited by the world you’re in, what if you could deform and re-form it? In Semblance, you have the ability to reshape otherwise-unhelpful ledges into clever answers to platforming puzzles. Never again weep over that collectible you’re convinced you don’t have access to. Semblance promises:
“…a world where the default is soft, where the property of ‘hardness’ doesn’t exist. Each of the game’s three worlds explore a new consequence of a planet that can shift, change and deform. Beat back the strange, crystalline infection of hard material by freeing the world’s life essences and uncover the dark cause for its appearance.”
Today’s indie market has no end of delightful platformers to explore, and developer Nyamakop appears to have yet another intelligent and beautiful title to add to the mix. Semblance is releasing at a $9.99 price tag, but if you snag it quick on Steam, you might just scoop up that 10% discount they’re currently offering. Or, play it on the Nintendo Switch, where it’s also been released.
