Denmark-based studio Zaxis has a potential… giant… of an indie in their developer stables, pawing in anxious anticipation for its release. Come February 28, the Midgard marvel Fimbul will launch on a swath of systems, bringing a comic-book aesthetic and exhilarating combat to screens from here to Jötunheim. Fimbul is an action-adventure title that fuses comic book story sequences with battles that’ll test your berserker mettle. Says Fimbul of itself:
“Fimbul is a single-player comic-book, action adventure set in the final winter before Ragnarök, The Fimbul Winter. You play as an old berserk, travelling to Jötunheim to fulfill his destiny, battling Trolls and Jotuns to reclaim an ancient artifact that might, just might save Midgard.”
Originally slated for November 29, Fimbul now enjoys a 2019 release date for February 28 in order to release on all possible consoles: PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Switch. Norse mythology is never better complemented than when illustrated with classical comic-book art, and this is a title well worth shivering in wintry anticipation for.
