Sometimes, humanity just needs to take a break from humanity for a little while. Witness and unravel a fallen world in Lost Ember, Mooneye Studios‘ indie title planned for spring of 2019. Lost Ember features a world bereft of humans, retaken by nature and populated by a vast array of four-legged, flying, and fishy beings. Lost Ember is a third-person adventure focused solely on exploration and storytelling, which promises to take you by the hand and lead you through a fantastic world that’s long-since forgotten humanity’s dominion.
July 27 saw Mooneye Studios’ fifth developer update, which confirmed the spring 2019 release and their plan to be at gamescom 2018 — where they ultimately won the gamescom Indie Award. Lost Ember describes its gameplay as the following:
“Explore the remains of a fallen world from fascinating perspectives! Slip into the role of different animals to uncover the fate of an ancient world. Dive into deep waters, fly at lofty heights, dig underground as a mole or even climb steep cliffs with a mountain goat, there are lots of ways of getting around.”
Lost Ember is planned for release on PC, PS4, and Xbox One, and we’ve heard some talk about VR capabilities in the future, as well. It’s won numerous awards since 2016, and features music and sound by the legendary Craig Conner of the Grand Theft Auto series and Will Morton of Rockstar North. Does spring 2019 seem like a long ways away? Yeah, it does to us, too.
